changes that enable greater health equity for all. Health Equity Solutions (HES) catalyzes
systemic public policy changes that advance and sustain health equity in
Connecticut through a non-partisan, collaborative, results-oriented approach.
HES seeks a strong, inspiring professional
with non-profit knowledge to serve as its Deputy Director. The Deputy Director will oversee HES’
day-to-day programming, internal operations, and administration. The position
includes both managerial and hand-on responsibilities.

health policy conversations in Connecticut.
It currently has a staff of five (the Deputy Director is a new position
in addition to these).
Responsibilities of the Deputy Director:
The successful candidate will be an experienced and thoughtful
leader with a commitment to HES’ mission and a track record of successful operational
and programmatic leadership in complex and growing organizations. The
successful candidate will have a keen attention to detail, the ability to
delegate effectively, a proven track record in motivating and unifying teams,
and have solid organizational, problem-solving, and clear decision-making
The Deputy Director reports to the Executive
Director, and also will be a partner with the Executive Director.
Together they will develop a plan to share and allocate responsibility
for key leadership tasks, including:
campaigns – advocacy and fundraising – to support the mission and vision of the
organization; establish organizational metrics and monitor progress toward
achieving those metrics.
of public communications and media outreach including website and social media.
management, including budget (annual and long-term projections), cash flow,
cash management and accounts payable, payroll, audit prep/coordination and
monitoring checks and balances.
and revenue tracking across grant and other accounts; grant compliance
monitoring, and grant reporting.
including lobbying registration and annual filings, annual charitable filing,
and (through accountant) tax filings.
- Internal operations, including information
systems, human resources, and facilities.
HES as appropriate with stakeholders, partners, and funders.

Executive Director in her work with Board of Directors (creating operational
plan, support Board Treasurer’s exercise of Board financial oversight, scheduling
meetings, development and distribution of meeting agendas).
