Connecticut’s Path to Equity

In partnership with advocates across the state, Health Equity Solutions compiled “Connecticut’s Path to Equity: A Guide to State Policy for Health Equityto provide a clear roadmap for candidates, voters, and concerned residents who want to make equity our reality.

Research and experience tell us the greatest barriers to achieving health equity for all people in Connecticut are rooted in the impacts of racism on health. The state of Connecticut and over 20 of its towns declared racism a public health crisis. Now, how do we continue to address this crisis? How can state policy be intentional in dismantling racism? This guide lays out a path to equity through state policy change.

Health Equity Solutions, Hartford Alumnae Chapter, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., & the Connecticut Women’s Education and Legal Fund (CWEALF) held a virtual discussion on “Connecticut’s Path to Equity: A Guide to State Policy for Health Equity” on Wednesday, September 28. The recording can be found here https://youtu.be/fzdXhABUWb4 for more information. To date, over 50 organizations have signed on to demonstrate their commitment to advancing these policies.
