Katia Ruesta-Daley is the Community Engagement Manager at Health Equity Solutions, where she develops community engagement initiatives and supports policy efforts. Passionate about community organizing and advocacy, Katia has dedicated her career to advancing healthcare policies that prioritize community needs.

Before joining Health Equity Solutions, Katia worked as a healthcare community organizer at CT Students for a Dream, where she led coalition meetings and strategy development for the HUSKY 4 Immigrants coalition. Her leadership was crucial in expanding the coalition to include over 30 organizations across Connecticut and in the successful passage of Public Act No. 21-176 in 2021, which extended HUSKY program benefits to undocumented immigrant youth up to age eight.

Katia holds a dual Bachelor of Arts degree in Health in the Latino Community and Latino and Latin American Studies, with a minor in Spanish, from the University of Connecticut. She also earned a Master of Social Work with a concentration in community organizing from UConn.

Originally from Lima, PerĂº, Katia moved to Connecticut at age 13. In her free time, she enjoys reading, beach walks, cuddling with her fur babies, and spending quality time with loved ones.
