Barr Even is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Rebalance Capital, an investment firm dedicated to investing in technology solutions that reduce barriers to upward mobility for low-income populations. He invests in financial, education and workforce technology companies.
Previously, Barr managed the private investment portfolio at the Dalio Family Office, including a portfolio of investments in mission-driven for-profit organizations. He has worked at Al Gore’s mission-driven investment firm, Generation IM, and served as a public health officer in the Israeli medical corps.
Barr passionately believes that ensuring health services are accessible, effective, and affordable for all is a key requirement for a just society in which everyone can reach their potential. As part of his graduate work, he received a Master in Public Health from Columbia University through which he studied the complex ecosystem of medical and non-medical factors that must be addressed to achieve health equity.
An immigrant twice over, Barr was born in Israel and grew up in the UK before moving to the United States in 2014. He has been living with his husband in Connecticut since 2017, initially in Norwalk, and now in New Canaan.
Barr received a BA from Oxford University and an MBA from Harvard University
